Configuration drawings and FEA based airworthiness substantations.
AFEA was contracted by NASA to generate configuration drawings and conduct airworthiness substantations in support of numerous atmospheric probes attached to their research DC-8 aircraft. AFEA responded with an on-site deployment to reverse engineer existing probes and follow through with ANSYS based design and safety margin calculations.


Novel rocket nozzle design and FEA 
This plot illustrates some details of a solid propellant rocket motor nozzle that was developed through the use of iterative FEA results.  Note that this is a typical example of the types of sophisticated 3D "all-brick" element meshes that AFEA produces.
 
 
 
 

Ground Support Hardware and Constant Camber Suspension System 
AFEA has skills to design novel machines and hardware, and deliver in response of contracted requirements.  The picture on the left shows ground support equipment manufactured and delivered cross country by an AFEA team in support of a USAF KC-135 program.  The other picture shows details of a conceptual trailers implemented with a novel an patented suspension system invented by an AFEA associate.
 
 
 
 
 
 
HYPER-X
AFEA helped in the successful Hyper-X program Mach-7 and Mach-10 speed record runs - having produced high fidelity fin actuator system ANSYS-FEA  models under contract.  Those sophisticated models produced accurate stress interrogations results that were the basis of the right type of design upgrades.
